Facebook has unveiled another change that can help marketers manage their business pages more effectively and efficiently.
The Business Asset Group feature will allow businesses to better organize and manage their social media pages. The feature will help business owners distribute the load of social media marketing, which can be a 24/7 operation.
“To support our businesses and agencies using Business Manager, we’re launching a new feature called business asset groups that empowers users to assign permissions seamlessly,” Facebook said in the announcement.”
The Business Asset Group feature allows you to organize your business assets, including Facebook Pages, ad accounts and other features by region and assign them to a group of employees. You’ll be able to group your assets based on how your business is structured and how it operates, by brands or service lines, agency or region.
This is particularly handy if you manage a chain or businesses, like auto repair shops, and want each to have their own voice within the consistency of your brand. You can assign the regional Facebook Pages, ad accounts and catalogs to the team that operates out of that region.
In the past, admins had to assign user permissions individually; now it can be done in bulk. It offers more opportunity for your employees to shine and gives you additional oversight into who is able to do what.
The feature is not yet available to everyone. When it is, it is fairly simple to use. Here are the steps:
- Open Business Settings.
- Click Users.
- Click People.
- Select the person you want to give asset access to.
- Click Assign Assets and select a type of asset.
- Toggle on each task listed you’d like to grant to the user, or toggle on admin access to grant the user access to manage the asset and perform all tasks available.
- Select the specific assets you’d like to share access to and choose a role.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: you must be an admin to make these changes.
